Vuk walked along the hallways. It was lunch, and he was heading towards a restaurant nearby. As usual, he was the last student out, or so he thought. It's been a while since he's eaten out; he usually makes his own food. He's pretty good at cooking, but... He found it nicer to eat out anyways. As Vuk walked towards the door, he heard rushing footsteps down the hall behind him. "Hmm? Someone else is in here, bre..." he thought. "But they seem a bit too far away from me..." As the Serb opened the door, that person crashed into him. They seemed to be trying to get out before him by shoving themselves throug the door. "H-hey, bre!" he almost yelped. "There's a thing called waiting for your turn around here, ya know!"

Although never having received much of an education, Natalia occasionally frequented the library at the university. It was open to the public and full of information about anything a person could be curious about. She was never very big on reading, but she always thought of it as a constructive way to spend spare time.
Today, she had decided it was about time she return a history book she had picked up a few weeks ago. It is barely safe from being overdue, so long as she gets it in today. Natalia is also busy with job-hunting. The library adventure is just a quick errand.
Or, it was supposed to be. She was attempting to walk through a door when someone else rammed into her. Then screeched in her face. Holding back a rather unladylike "pet-name" for Vuk, she merely frowned at the familiar face. "There's also the idea of watching where you're going," she snapped back at him. "But I guess only a polite person would know about it." After giving her retort, she tried to walk around him and get on with her business. She didn't have much time for socializing with friends.

The Serb suddenly grew curious. What was she doing here? Vuk had never seen her around before, so the question gnawed at him. He even knew the girl. Forgetting about lunch, Vuk decided to follow Natalia. The brunette knew what he was in for, but at that point, he didn't care. Although the Belarussian was intimidating, he wasn't afraid of anything. To his best interest, Serbia decided to play a bit nice. "Nat, what are you doing here anyways?" questiong the man."As I recall, you don't learn here, bre..."

It took Natalia very few steps to realize her friend was following her, so she decided to at least answer his question. She stopped to face him and replied, "I don't have the time for university. But the library is public." Then she continued to the library.
To say she didn't have the time was to put it loosely. She didn't have the time, or the money, or the grades or any other qualification for higher learning, really. But she had something of a career as a seamstress and that was all she needed. Despite her contentment with her life, she was also very jealous of those with college educations, despite never being much of a scholar herself. In her eyes, Vuk was a very lucky person to have the opportunity and ability to learn here.
That may or may not have been the reason she used this library for borrowing books. The Belorussian liked to look like a student with books in her arms, studying whatever topics were on the shelves. The fact that she had a dictionary beside her when she read was something no one really needed to know. She got so wrapped up in her thoughts of what book to take out next, despite that this was supposed to be a quick trip, that she almost forgot her friend was there. Almost.

Vuk wasn't suprised at Natalia's answer. Sure, the library is public, and all are welcomed, JUST AS LONG AS YOU DON'T MAKE A LOT OF NOISE. Silently, he was a bit jealous of her. She had the qualities of a student; a thirst for knowledge and dedication. Vuk didn't have these talents, and usually had to force himself to learn. The Serb honestly prefered more hands-on experiences. His studies included a lot of diagrams. Sure, they can be quite interesting, but Vuk found that making blueprints was MUCH better than observing them. The brunette had followed his friend all the way to the library. "Wow, bre..." the male thought. "It's been a while since I last entered this library..." Vuk noticed there has been a lot more addition of books since he last came here. See, the only reason Vuk ever comes to the library is because if he can't find the information he needs on the Internet, or if his eyes are hurting him from staring at the screen. He had a bit of difficulty trying not to look around in awe, for he remembered that Nat was there with him.

Every time she walked into the college library, it always struck her how much was in there. The fact left her in awe. Natalia had no fantasies of reading all of the books; or even many of them. Realistically, she'd probably get through a solid half of the books that fit what she likes before finding another hobby to take up her time, becoming too preoccupied with work or moving away. The thought was a bit depressing, but no more melancholy than most of her other thoughts.
For a few moments, she forgot about the Serbian tailing her and wandered to the desk. The Belorussian sent a silent goodbye to the thin tome as she sent it down the little slide to the box of books to be re-shelved. That particular book had taken her weeks, and she'd gotten attached to the story. Like most readers, her first instinct was to fill the void with another story like it, but she wasn't sure if she had the time to sift through the shelves before her next job interview. It was in a few hours, and happened to be half an hour away by foot. She had been hoping to get a few other errands done in that time; but she supposed food shopping, PO box checking and finding that damned beehive outside her apartment could wait another day if it meant finding another book and spending some time with her friend.

Vuk didn't know where the female was going, but he knew for some reason he had to follow silently. As the two passed by numerous books, a few titles had caught Vuk's eyes. Some of them seemed so interesting he had almost lost her. Shaking his head, the Serb caught up to the Belarussian. He mentally argued wheither to say anything or not. Finally he came with a final decision. "Hey Nat, what kinda books are you looking for, bre?" To be honest, the brunette was curious. He just couldn't help himself but to ask. He then realized that there was the possiability that she never knew he tagged along. Vuk panicked a bit; he might have gotten himself into a load of trouble.

"A book," Natalia replied immediately as though it were obvious. To be fair, she thought it was. "What else does a person look for in a library?" She continued her search, wandering through the familiar shelves of books. There weren't many types of books she liked, but as long as it was in a genre she liked, she was not very particular.
She stopped moments later in front of shelves of romance novels. Fortunately, the had enough class to be kept in a university library; but if there were any trashy one's Natalia would have gotten her hands on it. There was something about love stories that made her heart melt. It took her all of two minutes to find one she had yet to read, and take it from the shelves. She turned around, looking for her her Serbian companion. "Are you here for a book as well?"

Vuk rolled his eyes at the female's question. "I'm not dumb. Of course you're looking for a book, bre. I meant what kind..." Quietly growling as the Belarussian ignored his question, he kept on following her around until she stopped at the romantic section. The brunette should've known; women are usually addicted to these kind of novels. As Natalia turned around and asked her question, Vuk was almost dumbfounded. A book? The Serb hadn't cracked open a real book, other than the textbooks. Vuk scoffed."Why else would I be here, bre?"

After declaring his intent to get a book, Natalia expected him to immediately be leading her to the other side of the library in search of a book. When she was not promptly whisked away, she decided to make a comment. What was the Serbian there for, if not to have nasty comments made at him?
"Are you having trouble remembering where the book you want is?" She asked. She had decided they were equally rude, and had absolutely no problem being a bit snarky with him. Natalia tapped her toes waiting for Vuk, more for dramatic effect than a real lack of patience.

Vuk almost scoffed at Natalia's entire reaction. She acts like she's all high and mighty, for Boze's sake! "Of course not, bre! I know where the history section is here!" It was the only area Vuk was really interested in. It's a bit of suprise to him that he even remembers where it is. Without warning, Vuk walked off. He didn't care weither the female followed him or not. He just wanted to prove that he wasn't a complete reckless dumbass.

The reckless dumbass walked off in a huff. Natalia knew she would follow him halfway across the library, just as she had followed him. Not that she had a particular problem with that. It was just that he was walking towards a part of the library she had never been in.
The library itself was very large, but not very spacious. The book choice was ridiculously varied, and any student competent enough to navigate it was absolutely in love. However, very few people were familiar enough to more than the general section of their preference. Natalia enjoyed romance books, and mysteries on occasion. Now Vuk was leading her down a maze on nonfiction.
"Are you sure of where we're going?" she asked, still a bit nervous at being out of her comfort zone. Although, as long as he knew where they were it was all right; wasn't it?

Vuk happliy sighed; the Serb was finally in the non-fiction area of the library. Real books about real events! The romance section had made the brunette feel... uncomfortable. Not that he hated romantic novels, but they were mostly too lovey-dovey for his taste. The only romantic novel that Vuk ever really read was Romeo and Juliet. The Serbian almost laughed at Natalia's question: know? The brunette basically was raised in this section of the library. He answered the question anyways. " Of course I know where we're going, bre. I could do this blindfolded." After scouring around aisels and aisels of thick books, they finally reached their destination; the History books.
