High school was certainly not Erika's favorite place to be. In fact, she just wanted to finish high school and move on up in the world. Yet, time seemed to be moving at a very slow place. Classes seemed to drag on forever, stress levels were always maxed out, and the end seem as close as it did before. However, finishing high school would only add more stress to Erika's life; she couldn't depend on her brother for everything forever. So, there was quite a bit to think about for the young girl.
With that all being said, Erika definitely needed to relax and relieve herself of the stress that each day brought to her. So, the boardwalk seemed like a lovely place to put herself at ease. With the salty sea air filling her nose and the creaky wooden boards under her feet, there wasn't any possible way that Erika couldn't find some peace.
Yet, the only thing that seemed to be missing was the company of another. The Liechtensteiner hadn't seen much of her brother lately, so she figured not to bother him with such a trivial walk on the beach. Erika didn't have many "friends" either, for she never could find the words to say to one of her classmates. Really, the girl was alone in the world.

Natalia was always nervous around water. With her power, it was to be expected. If she were ever to lose her temper at the beach, it could be a city-wide tragedy. She was very good at self-control, through years of practice, but there was always the possibility. And that possibility terrified her. Of course she loved the snow, and of course she bathed. But those were different. She couldn't kill people with her shower.
That was why she spent some of her time at the boardwalk. She had to conquer her fear. This was a weakness, and she couldn't deal with any weakness she could easily overcome. Learning to control her power was secondary to overcoming her fear of it.
So, once a week, Natalia would come down to the boardwalk and simply wander. Sometimes there would be events or festivals and she would watch the fireworks. But, usually, all she did was buy a greasy snack, sit on the beach during the afternoon and watch the sunset. The afternoon seemed to be coming to an end on the day, and Natalia wandered more towards the spot she usually watched the sun set from. To her dismay, there was already a young woman standing there. For a moment, she wasn't sure what to do; as used to having that one spot as she was. Natalia stood a few feet off from the girl, still in a very nice spot, and greeted her in what she hoped was a pleasant way; "Good evening."
