It was a casual Sunday afternoon. The Boardwalk was already getting quite busy, but hey, who wouldn't want to be here on a nice Sunday? Vuk was strolling around, more closer to the water. He took a deep breath in. "Bre~ Today's real lively! I wonder if I'll find her..." The Serb had been looking around the entire city for a long-lost friend. He, although he will never admit it out loud, was getting lonely. It had been a while since he had last seen her. What was it... almost five years now? The brunette could barely remeber how the two had gotten so... distant. He shrugged. "I'll find her sooner or later, bre. She's bound to be around here~"

Sunday? Was it only a Sunday? Well that would have explained why it was so busy here, naturally it’s a rather nice place to be. On the other hand, this was also Cassandra’s favourite place to relax, she couldn’t do that with so many people here today. Half of the time, she wondered why she’d even bothered coming today. Looking around casually, she swore she had just seen some sort of familiar face. “Vuk…?” she questioned, mostly to herself. No way. They hadn’t seen each other for what? Five years? Five years without Vuk. Tell Cassandra that ten or even fifteen years ago, she would have been sure it was someone telling her a lie and pulling her leg. Slowly, she walked towards the water, with the intent of getting a closer look at this man that looked so much like a friend of hers.

Vuk sighed. It's been five years. How could he possiably find Cassandra now? Vuk slightly shook his head. "Ne, Vuk!"the brunette ordered himself."A Serb never gives up! You'll find her! ... Eventually, bre." Vuk walked along the boardwalk, when he heard gentle footsteps approach him. "Bre? Who could it be...?" The Serbian stopped on his tracks and faced the person who was approaching. He was shocked. It was his Greek friend, Cassandra! "S-Sta?"he almost squeaked."Cassandra, bre!? Is that you...?" Vuk couldn't believe his eyes. After all those years of searching, they just bump into eachother! And at the Boardwalk at that! But how? Did Boze do that on purpose? A million thoughts ran through the Serb's mind; in the end, he was speechless.

Cassandra tilted her head. Five years. A lot changed in five years. Vuk had changed, but she still recognised him. It wasn’t like he looked all that common or anything. “Vuk…Slobodan Misic? That’s you?” she smiled gently. She wasn’t expecting to see him here. Actually the chances of seeing him again at all had always seemed somewhat low. How could you contact someone after five years? It was fate. It had to be. The three fates who spun the thread that was her life meant for them to meet again in such circumstances. Even as an Orthodox Christian she still believed in that idea of fate. It just seemed somehow more comforting that her life was someone else’s problem. “Πώς είστε?” she asked in her native tongue, knowing he’d understand that she asked how he was. “I’ve missed you…what happened? How have you been? Are you married yet?”

"BreBreBre, one question at a time, Cass!" laughed Vuk."I've been doing fine lately. I even have a job, bre~" That statement hit the Serb a bit. He usually isn't the kind to comprimise. It explains why a lot of people would have been shocked to find out he has an actual job and actually gets paid. Vuk knew that the Greek was different however. She's usually real calm and can take any news without showing her emotions about it... most of the time anyways. "And sadly, no, I'm not married...yet. I'm still single, bre." Vuk paused for a minute. "What about you, Cass? How've you been doing? How's your love life, bre~?" The brunette winked after his last question. The Serb just couldn't help it anyways.

“I’m sorry, it’s been so long, I’m incredibly curious.” Wait! A job? Vuk? Really? Cassandra knew they’d not seen each other for a long time if the Serbian male she had thought she’d known so well actually was working and being paid. Why did that seem so weird? If it was anyone but Vuk it probably wouldn’t have seemed so. “I’m glad to hear that, Vuk.” She smiled ever so slightly at him “You’re really growing up I guess then…” she yawned softly, it was strange how much one seemed to change in a few years. “Still not married? Oh. I would have thought you were, oh well. You have a while” she shrugged, though with all the things she was finding out now, it wouldn’t have surprised her. “Mine is as non-existent as ever when it comes to love, Vuk.” It wasn’t too big a deal for her as of yet as it was. She didn't pursue men. She had better things to do with her time.

Vuk couldn't help but to grin. Cassy was still the same care-free Greek he remembered, but for some odd reason, the fact that she wasn't with anyone suprised Vuk a bit. He knew she wouldn't be chasing anyone, but the Serb assumed that some man was chasing her. The brunette quickly shoved that thought out of the way. "Hey, you seem to be bored already~! Wanna just walk around, bre?" Vuk just had to suggest that. He doesn't enjoy staying still, and plus, walking help him think more. The Serbian needed more topics; more things to talk about. The last thing he wanted was causing his friend to fall asleep.

Cassandra internally laughed, bored? Around her dear old Serbian friend? Not at all. It was just the way she was. She nodded, “Just walk around? Yes I can do that,” she said. Walking, it didn’t do much for the whole ‘I want to sleep 17 hours a day 24/7 ‘ thing she had going on, but this was the boardwalk. There was always something to keep someone occupied. You couldn’t fall asleep anywhere near the place if it was as busy as it was today, that’s Sundays for you. “So, anything new? What is this new job of yours?” she asked, simple topics. Just two friend catching up after a long time, nothing special. Although by today…she wanted to get to fully understand the reason that they hadn’t seen each other for so long. Losing contact just like that had been…strange.

"My job? For now, I work as a part-time bartender, bre,"smiled the brunette. He honestly loved his job, and was not afraid to tell anyone about it. He was proud of his job too, and for everyone who knew him, they knew better than to even scratch his pride. "How's your money line going, bre? Do you have a job yet, or are you still sleeping in?" Vuk smiled, trying his best not to hurt Cassy's feelings.

“Which bar? Maybe I should visit sometime?” she suggested, looking at him curiously. She wanted to know what it was like where he worked, was it good? Was it shabby? She knew he was a prideful guy but did that mean he worked in a good place? She honestly didn’t expect him to be a bar tender. But he was a student as well, right? “I’m working at papa’s place, you know? It’s nice…and we have nice customers most of the time…” she explained. “Money…it’s never been going good for me when it comes to that, Vuk. You know that. 5 years hasn't changed the money problem...”

Vuk happily nodded. "Sure, bre! It'd be fun, having you around the bar!" Vuk was a bit jealous of Cass; she has a nice job, especially since it's family-owned. the brunette has dreams about having such a job, but what could he do now? The Serb frowned at the familiar news. He thought it was origonally a rumor spread by some idiotic enemy, but then again, he had known about it five years ago. Vuk was always concerned for his friend. "Cass, bre... I know you don't like it when people offer you, but I could lend you a couple dollars... just to help out. And you won't have to pay me back, bre!" The Serbian was expecting a no, but at least he offered. He really did care about the Greek, and the last thing he wanted was to see her again in even deeper money problems.

Cassandra nodded and smiled ever so slightly, seeing Vuk more often would be fun especially since it now meant he couldn’t get rid of her and all that. By luck they would still know each other and the other’s whereabouts in 5 years’ time this time around. 5 years…damn she’d be almost old by then. Actually Cass was kind of jealous of Vuk, he didn’t have his family knowing everything he did and/or breathing down his neck all the time wondering if she was ever going to get hitched. Because you know 27 is nearly middle age to some people. “Vuk…” she mumbled, shaking her head. “No, I can’t. it wouldn’t be a loan if you did that and I can’t have you losing money over me. I’ll be fine” she waved her hand dismissively. It wasn’t like her to take charity, she wouldn’t start now and not with Vuk.

Vuk slightly smirked; same old Cass. He looked around. It was getting dark, and the Boardwalk was slowly coming alive with bright and colourful lights. The Serb noticed many people playing some of the games. He knew most of them were just rip-offs; cheap ways to get a lot of cash. But hey, they still are real fun. He turned to Cass, a smile plastered on his face. "Can't we at least play one game on here, bre? It wouldn't hurt THAT much, would it?" Vuk missed Cass a lot, and he wanted to say goodbye to her for the day after having fun. It seemed like a good idea to him anyways.

It had been nice of him to offer, but charity wasn't her thing. She didn't want it or need it. Cassandra looked around, the place looked really nice when it was dark. But hey, it was still dark. Dark usually meant having to go home or something, didn't it? And she didn't really want to say goodbye yet, besides she liked seeing the same old Vuk. It was a relief and it didn't make her feel all that old anymore. "A game? On here? Of course...wait a second though" she paused, checking her pockets to make sure she had some money, so that she could pay of course, some awful random pride problem of hers. She didn't want her Serbian friend to think she was stingy, in fact it would be absolutely terrible if he thought she was stingy. That was really the last thing she wanted. "Did you have a particular one in mind, Vuk?" she asked.

Vuk noticed the female searching her pockets, but he decided to do his best to not mention that. "No, not really, bre,"the Serbian quickly responded."But you can pick if you have one in mind; that won't bother me. And I'll pay. Don't worry about it, it's the least I could do for our reunion, bre." Vuk winked at the last part. The brunette hoped his Greek friend didn't think he was trying too hard to give her a money break, even though she does deserve it. Plus, if Cass suddenly disagreed, Vuk will "have" to take her home. It would give him a lot of time to find out more about the female. "So Cassy, bre? Which game shall it be?"
