Shhhiink.......Shhiink....
With only a few skaters, the rink was dreadfully empty. Every other moment or so, Matthew would glance over his booth and steal a glance at those who were on the ice. It never was that busy at the Ice Rink this time of day, but never was it as boring as it was now. The Canadian forgot to bring a book and was stuck listening to the hollow sounds of the shredding of ice. He tipped his chin from left to right on his closed fist that was being supported by an upright arm and swung his legs from the tilted stool he was rocking back and forth in. His free hand poked at the back of his glasses that rested behind his ear, swinging them from the bridge of his nose up to his forehead in an act of boredom. He eyed the wall, the few posters that he had glanced at for the millionth time staring him back. Of course he was the only worker present today. Out of all days.
((Hope this is okay, Amy. Had to leave in a bit, so I just wanted to get this started.))

There were some things that Aoife O'Neil could not get her head round. One of those things was how the government rewarded some of their most loyal members. Take herself as an example. The last few weeks had been spent constantly working for Aoife. Undercover work at the University during the day, starting fires and cleaning up certain messes late into the night and working weekends at the main building, finishing off paperwork and such. All this dedication, and she'd been rewarded with a coupon?!
Aoife scrunched up her nose as she stared at the small slip of paper, her feet marching her into the building. Two hours free at the ice-skating rink. Sure, it was nice to get rewarded, even if it was a bit of a pathetic bonus... However Aoife's main problem was the fact this was all about ice. She wasn't scared of ice, it's just the redhead knew she was incredibly clumsy. And clumsiness plus slippery frozen water would result in a very un-graceful display. People were going to laugh at her, she could feel it. Just thinking about it made her face turn deep crimson. Why was she even here if it was going to be so awful? Oh yeah, because it would've been rude not to accept the government's "token of appreciation".
Letting out a heavy sigh, the redhead made her way over to the till when a young man was lazing about. He looked incredibly bored. Poor guy, she thought to herself. This place probably would be a dull place to work.
Putting on a bright smile, trying to hide her feelings of unrest, she slipped the coupon onto the till and nodded to him.
"Is this valid?"
((It was really good! I hope my reply was alright, and I'm so sorry for the delay~ I get easily distracted, it seems.))
