Stress had been eating Erika alive lately and nothing ever seemed to help. All she wanted to do for a short period of time was to just relax. Just for five minutes at least. The Liechtensteiner decided to take a walk in the park to recollect herself and her thoughts.
However, one of her teachers decided to assign a four page paper due the next day, so Erika spent every waking moment at the library as much as she could. Thus, her walk in the park was seized by the paper she had to write. Honestly, the girl could only remember dozing off while writing the paper and didn't really remember what she actually wrote for the paper. She'd never tell anyone, but at this point, she didn't really care. All Erika cared about was finding at least five minutes for herself.
When the sun set and the sky was a glistening amber color, Erika left the library and headed home. She did her usual routine of having dinner, taking a shower, and then studying for whatever test was the next day. Yet, when she was positive her brother in particular was asleep, Erika quietly opened her window.
Next to her room was the roof of the garage, so Erika climbed out of her window and jumped onto the roof. The Liechtensteiner nearly slid off the roof, but she did her best of maintaining her balance. She jumped off the roof and onto the ground. She sighed, "Now how am I going to get back up there?" Erika shook her head and figured that she'd think about it when she concluded her walk.
And so, she was on her way. Honestly, the darkness did scare her. But, if night was the only time that she could unwind, then Erika would just have to suffer.

Kim was utterly bored. She had gone to school, worked, eaten, and pretty much everything in between, and yet she STILL had time to spare. She looked at the clock across the room. It was only 7:45 PM. The Asian growled in frustration. She couldn't go to sleep now, it was too early! Kim didn't want to go to any bars or clubs either; tonight was a school night. If she went to bed now, she knew that she'd wake up at five in the morning, and that's the last thing she wanted. Finally giving in to boredom, Kim trudged to her bedroom and laid herself on her bed, facing the ceiling, thinking of something to occupy her. It seemed like forever for the South Vietnamese, since she kept on going off topic. At one point, she started thinking about her crush. It had caused her to madly blush. Realizing how desperately she needed to do something, Kim started to think frantically. The brunette then looked out the window. It was dark now. It seemed like a perfect time to just hang out outside... The idea struck her like a slap. Kim walked up to the window and slowly slid it up, only leaving a tiny gap. She then took on various transformations before she became what she wanted to be; a simple sparrow. Kim spread out her tiny wings and took off into the cool night sky.

A swift breeze blew right past Erika and nearly knocked her off her feet. She shuddered and wished she was back in her bed. Truthfully, it wouldn't of been as bad if she wasn't alone. It seemed like every step she took, Erika felt like someone was behind her; watching her. Admittedly, that idea alone simply just terrified the young girl into wishing she had at least brought her brother along.
Thankfully, if anything went wrong, the Liechtensteiner did have a mirror. In a blink of an eye, she could be home, safe and sound, away from the darkness. Still, Erika trudged on, remembering that she needed time to herself, even if it was time alone in the dark with potentially harmful things.
As she thought about it more and more, Erika was a teensy bit thankful she didn't bring anyone else along, even her brother. She loved spending time with others, especially her brother, but most of the time, those she was close to would often vent to the girl. Erika didn't mind listening, in fact, she'd love to try her best to help them. Yet, they often left no room for Erika to let out her emotions or would often down-play the severity of her issues.
Erika stopped short to look up into the sky to gaze at the moon, the only illumination besides the dimly lit streetlights. The moon's glow made Erika feel like it provided some sort of safety; like it could protect her from harm. As she looked closer, Erika saw a small sparrow in the night sky as it passed right by the moon. She smiled as it made her feel even less alone.

Kim sailed into the sky, free of worry. The only thing that did worry her though was potentional hungry owls. As Kim flew towards the pale moonlight, she started to appreciate the view. The city lights shone brightly all together beautifully. It seemed as if it was nothing but magic. Kim flew closer to the ground, to see if she could have a bit of fun with a lone walker. Surely enough, she spotted a small girl walking alone. It made her wonder a bit, but she quickly shrugged that thought off. Kim decided to just not scare the poor girl to death. Dramatically, Kim swooped and dived down towards the ground. She barely skimmed across the girl's eyes and flew back up agian before she could touch the ground. Kim gave a loud chirp and soared back into the sky, almost laughing to herself.
