It was 1:05AM on a Saturday morning and Emil had woken up, unable to fall back to sleep. He sat up in his bed, irritation evident in his face and manner. The puffin that he, by accident, woke up, went to shout out a question, only to have his beak clamped shut by the silver haired boy’s hand. The positively livid look the boy gave the bird was certainly different compared to his usual blank expression that seemed stuck on his face.
So the bird had decidedly shut up, but gave out a muffled squawk of indignation when he was scooped into the boy’s arms. The bird nestled into the arms like a nest and grumbled his unhappiness, but otherwise spoke no words. The boy silently crept out of his room and wandered around aimlessly until he’d decided an inevitable out come. To go sneak into his brother’s bed.
Creeping down the hall, Emil made a shushing motion at his bird before entering one of the doors. He, as silently as possible snuck toward the end of the bed so he could crawl his way up between his brother and the wall. He sat the puffin above his head and adjusted himself on his side, staring at his brother’s form in the dark with a suspicious expression.
He was watching to see if his brother showed any signs of having woken up. When he seemed more or less content, he shut his eyes to sleep. It didn’t take long before he was out like a light. Which wasn’t such a great thing for Luka because Emil sometimes had the tendency to roll and flop. By 4:21 AM it got to the point where Emil started shoving Luka off the bed so he could have it all for himself -of course this was done unconsciously. A sleep action.
