Andrei Lupescu
Name: Andrei Carol Lupescu
Nation: România
Gender: Male
Age: 24
Appearance: Andrei is only relatively tall; standing approximately 5’10 with a broad, athletic build. His shoulders are wider than most others as well as his jawline being a bit more prominent; giving him quite a masculine, almost rugged sort of look. His hair is just above shoulder length and light brown, though it changes in shade depending on the season, while his eyes are a startling brick color. He’s always wearing a coat; not because he gets cold, though thats usually a factor too, but simply because he enjoys all the pockets in one.. The only other adornments he wears, is an old, worn down gold and ruby ring thats missing a few jewels; which he received from his grandfather, and a odd, small hat, tilted to the side. He rarely carries any sort of weapons though, preferring to rely on his brute strength and intimidation when it comes right down to it.
Occupation: Librarian, Hunter
Affiliation: Government
Superpower: Andrei is, as most people word it, a werewolf essentially. But not by the traditional, cut & dry sense. Its not only on the full moon he changes.. But every single night the moon is visible. He only remains fully human- or as close as he can be- on the night of the new moon. Every other night leading up to the full moon, the changes increase and his strength and abilities grow stronger. By the time the full moon hits, he’s a full werewolf; immense strength, agility, sense of smell and he heals a bit faster than normal people.
Which is the main reason he spends most of the night hours out in the closest, heavily wooded area. A great food source, plenty of deer and other prey; and it keeps him away from people, keeps others safe. During the daytime, however, when he works and is around others.. It doesn’t stop his presence from naturally causing a fight-or-flight response in most people; after all, the little piggies refused to let the big bad wolf in for a very..very good reason.
While its all find and dandy at night.. The drawbacks include; a near constant hunger. For red meat, fresh, no less. When he happens to be feeling ill, there’s nothing like nibbling some grass. A bit of an allergy to silver. Certain soundwaves and strong scents can all but immobilize him. There's also the fact that the closer it gets to the full moon, the less control he has over himself- he becomes less human, after all.. And if its the right (or wrong) person.. Even throwing a ball works.

Personality: While Andrei can come across as quite foul-tempered some of the time, especially when it comes to strangers.. Andrei is surprisingly cheerful most of the time. Even more so if he’s around people he’s used to or those he can actually bring himself to care about. He’s had a rather dark past, as others know or at least can imagine.. So one of the only ways he got himself through things, was to try and keep as upbeat of an attitude as he possibly could. After so long of trying to force it, it simply became natural to him. Practically infected by it. This led to the creation of his ability to carry on a conversation of disturbing or frightening content (by other’s standards), with a cheerful atmosphere. He doesn’t even seem to realize that this manner of conversing is not considered normal by most people. Its a concept that has always managed just to go right over his head.
One of his most notable characteristics that others tend to identify his by.. Is how selfish and greedy he is. If he doesn’t benefit from something, he will absolutely refuse to do anything for anyone (without special reason of course) out of the kindness of his own heart. Andrei comes first to Andrei; unless someone has proven themselves to be worth being more than second best, they will never come before him. As far as greedy goes.. He doesn’t like spending his money on things for someone other than himself usually. Nor does he like sharing what’s his. If its his, its his; If its yours, he’ll want to make it his; If it has no value, its yours- Romanian’s typical train of thought when it comes to most things. Such as food, ‘treasure’ and comfortable spots; anything really, though those three are the most important to him.
Being a push-over in where he grew up will only serve to getting put under someone else’s foot, the Romanian’s always said. And thus, he is extremely competitive; aggressively so. From footraces to eating contests, to completing one’s work the fasts to the absolute silliest of contests; he’s always up for the challenge and always aims to win. He’s not afraid to play dirty to win, either; underhanded tricks, cheating, distracting. A win is a win; the feeling of self accomplishment is exquisite, even if it came by less than noble means. The look of defeat on his opponent’s face isn’t all that bad a prize either. On the other hand, however, if he loses by some chance.. Andrei is a terrible sport. Easily described as a ‘sore-loser’. He’ll chalk up the other’s victory to pure luck, his poor condition (even if he’s in good health) or to them cheating and refuse to acknowledge that they won; pouting and dismissing the subject by simply walking away.
The fact he prefers being alone to being surrounded by others, makes Andrei a very reclusive person. He doesn’t like socializing, he doesn’t like crowds, he hardly even likes people. His existence is solitary in his own opinion. For the most part at least; his “special relationship” with his “younger sibling” is one of the main exceptions to this mindset of his. He’d rather be around them than be alone, most of the times; unless he’s in a terribly bad mood. He is also likes his privacy. Then again, who doesn’t? Since he doesn’t like sharing things with others, he often keeps his personal belongings locked away from view; such as his treasured items and diaries. The only reason he even likes the occasional company around he is because she doesn’t mind picking up a few extra wallets during their visit. Its always a good idea to watch your pockets if Andrei’s around. Particularly so if he’s possibly upset with you.
One thing that a person would be wise not to do to Andrei, is to critique him. He absolutely can’t stand it and it simply puts him in a foul mood, if not completely angry. Especially if its flat out criticism. No matter what it may be concerning, he is right and you are wrong. His method is right, yours is wrong; end of story. Though he is wrong a decent amount of times like every other being, he doesn’t like being told so, even if its the ‘constructive criticism’. Andrei likes the way he is and thus sees what people refer to as constructive criticism as them trying to change him in a passive aggressive manner. Which he also hates. He has the right way and the only way, everyone else is wrong and lost. Alas.. Its no use to argue with him either. At least not if the argument stems from criticizing him; he’ll just wind up getting angry and possibly even violent. The person arguing with him should be grateful if he just storms off elsewhere.
Unfortunately.. He has absolutely no shame in most things. He’ll lie to your face without batting an eyelash; lying has become as natural as breathing to him. And as frequent. He rarely bothers to tell the truth about anything to someone unless the truth will benefit him more or he feels bad about lying to the person in question. Which is an extremely rare occasion for the Eastern European man. Andrei also isn’t shy about complaining. If he doesn’t like something, he’ll bluntly make others aware of it; regardless if it offends them or not. He sees no point in lying if he doesn’t like something; one of the few things that he won’t lie about. You can always expect an honest opinion from the man if its a negative one.
On another note, he is a hopeless romantic. He loves anything related to the idea of romance and, like girls, spends a good bit of his time fantasizing about it. Classic fairy tales and stories of the lengths people will go to for love and for each other, have always been his favorite. He admires how these fantastical lovers can just throw everything away, all for the chance to be together. Andrei’s always enjoyed reading, this is a well known fact. But What people don’t often know about him, is that he doesn’t own a single book that isn’t a romance once. Well, beside a few agricultural and history books. He also likes love songs; both the classics and even some of the newer genres on occasion, depending on how much he likes the lyrics. Regardless of age, or his personality or past.. The concept of true love and the steadfast belief that it exists is something he can never bring himself to let go of.
To those who actually take the time to get to know him somewhat.. They will discover a surprisingly childish -both in attitude and mannerisms- side of him. What his little sibling often claims is what he’s trying to cover up with his normally gruff, greedy nature. He becomes very fascinated with things that interest him, and gets almost as excited as a kid in a candy store, when given the opportunity to learn more about it. The rare moments when he’s genuinely honest, people often misunderstand as sarcasm; they’re usually unused to supposed sincerity and borderline naivety from the Romanian, that people often assume it to be biting sarcasm. What they’re missing.. is that he’s mostly just an over-sized puppy that acts like a vicious guard-dog whose bark is worse than his bite. One still shouldn’t offer him their unguarded finger, however.
Likes: Wild Animals, Agriculture, Meat, Blood, Beer, Earl Grey, English culture, Plastic table covers, Coats, The Cold, The Occult, Books, People who smell good, The Moon, Nighttime, Chasing things
Dislikes: Losing, Critique, Being ignored, Dresses, Domestic Animals, Not having what he wants, Crying girls, Women, Being bored, Being completely alone, Too many vegetables, Bad smells
Fatal Flaw: Romantic- He’s a hopeless romantic. Its one of his biggest weaknesses. He’s always been a sucker for a good love story, however tragic or mushy it might be. As sappy and lame as it might sound.. He’d do anything ‘in the name of love’. Rather its for his own, or for the sake of someone else’s. His heart is simply too big when it comes right down to it.

Roleplay Sample:
Andrei grumbled as he reluctantly pulled on his jacket and slipped out the door. He’d been rather..unbusy, actually. He’d like to have believed he was, sitting there, flipping through pages of one of the newest romance novels he’d purchased. Of course, when his lovely roommate was at work was the only time he could enjoy such guilty pleasures without being made fun of or nagged about having his shoes on the couch. But today, he was feeling too antsy to try focusing on reading. He couldn’t quite place his finger on it though..
There was just something...in the air today. Tonight.
And so! The Romanian had done the unthinkable in his mild paranoia. He’d offered to go pick up a certain, violent upperclassman from work. Just to walk her back home as a ‘just in case’ measure. Sure he couldn’t stand her, nor her him. And yes, they never got along, despite how they shared an apartment. ...And true, they often got into full-on fist fights with one another. Andrei’s nose wrinkled at the thought, irritably rubbing a small bruise on his jawline. Stupid sheman. But when everything came right down to it, they were family; however distant. As much as they fought and disliked one another..that still meant something. To both of them. One could say they were frenemies almost. Only they were allowed to abuse each other.
At least he was finally there. It always seemed like such a long walk. He shook his head, dismissing his uneasiness in order to put on his usual scowl just before knocking on the door. He couldn’t remember rather or not she had said the front or back one.. But since the back one was further away when he was already right here at the front entrance.. Andy wasn’t too keen on putting anymore effort than absolutely necessary into this playing escort business he'd gotten himself in.
