Yao Wang
Name: Yao Wang
Nation: China
Gender: MALE
Age: He looks like he’s probably in his early twenties…
Appearance:
China is a rather short, feminine man. But lets not be mistaken, he is INDEED a man. Despite his slight and frail looking body, and long brown hair -which is usually held in a ponytail at the nape of his neck. He has, rather golden brown eyes and fair, pale skin. And of course, he's almost always wearing traditional Chinese clothing. Mostly in reds, whites, and golds. Never any black though. That would be HORRIBLE luck. He also tended to carry a young baby panda (whether real or fake, you'd have to ask or touch it, to find out) in a straw basket, used for carrying small children, on his back. On his lower back, upper rear, on the left side, China has a Panda tattoo. And down the middle of the back he has a long, large scar from being struck by a katana, caught unaware.
Occupation: Chef
Affiliation: Government
Superpower:
The power of Detection, a power that allows him to sense and track people. This power is limited to only people that he has met. He must first see a person to get a read on them in order to sense and track them. Meaning if he’s only seen them in a picture or heard their name, he can not track them. It is a relatively handy power for spying or catching people.

Personality:
Yao has a very... Difficult personality. He still dislikes westerners, even though the Chinese are more willing to work with them. Like making things for the Americans and other nations to sell in their stores and opening up China towns all across the globe, wherever they can. He still can’t get over how completely rude most of them are! And he holds very little trust in them. He also has the bad tendency to let even the slightest rude-ness, that he might neglect to deal with in his own siblings, get on his nerves. Even if they say something he takes as a compliment, like his age, if they say it wrongly, he’ll get upset with them.
Yao puts food before anything else, (well) minus his adorable siblings and children that need him. Which is also a weakness of his. Yao is absolutely, completely in love with children -well behaved children at least. He has a more than necessary sized motherly instinct. Which causes him to go a little over-board and to the point his love makes those who he raises go crazy trying to escape him. But it can’t be helped, it goes along with his absolute adoration and love for all things cute and sweet. For as thrifty a shopper as he is, he occasionally has moments of weakness. Where he’ll spend more than he meant to, just to get an adorable plush item.
And despite this feminine, childish behavior, his age does shine through. He can be unexpectedly calm, when he’s not in a wild rage -which happens quite frequently as he is easy to fluster, upset, and embarrass. And when Yao is embarrassed or flustered, it comes out in the form of shy-ness or irritation. This comes from years of practice, and confucianism. And of course, the years have taught him that life is not always kind, so you must be able to deal with more than any person should ever have to go through. Of course, this calm politeness also comes from the reserved and expected etiquette of his land.
And because of this expected reserved nature, he gets very flustered by PDA, and avoids it for the most part. Unless he’s so absolutely and totally enthralled by the cuteness of something that he just can’t help it. Or if it’s REALLY, UNBEARABLY obvious that some one really, really needs comforted. He’s a sucker for people who look upset. He can’t help himself, he’s some one who naturally worries about others, regardless of the situation. He’s always been some one who’s felt he had to take care of other’s and that won’t change anytime soon.
All in all, Yao is a very unique, if not a little dishonest with his feelings, person. He may not always seem nice, but he is not a bad person. And he’s rather shy, rather than antisocial. He feels he is far too old to fit in with most of the other people, so he isn’t exactly sure how to act around others, and tends to stick to himself, even though it actually makes him sad, since his siblings do not really want anything to do with him, which leaves him alone a lot.
Likes:
Cute things, like Plushies; They are a weakness of his. He really, really can’t control himself when he sees something so friggin adorable that he simply has to have it.
Children; Like cute things, Yao has an unhealthy adoration for children. Not to the point of pedophilia, but to the point that if he could, he would so totally take other people’s children if they were well-enough behaved.
Animals; Animals are very cute! And they aren’t sneaky, cruel, traitorous and agenda-hiding monsters like humans are. He can feel safe and trusting around them. So he likes them very much.
Food; It comes second only to his own life. He loves food more then the sun, the stars, the moon, and any other thing that means a lot to the world. Even important things like meeting people come second to food.
His siblings; Naturally come before even his own life. Despite how little most of them seem to like him, his siblings mean more to him than anything in the world. Even his own safety. Even if it doesn’t necessarily come out right, everything he does concerning them, he believes is for their own good.
Politeness; One can never be to polite, and the joy it brings Yao when some one treats him politely is so obvious and evident on his face. As an Asian, as a Chinese, Politeness is a big factor on how he sees you.
Company; He gets lonely easily, so even when he feigns annoyance at you being there, chances are, he’s likely happy to have some one around.
The number eight; This is a very lucky number in his culture, so he’s very fond of it, hoping it will bring him good luck.
Red
White
Gold; these three colors are all of good fortune and luck. Meaning he really likes wearing them and seeing them.
Being in Control; He’s a tad bit controlling, so he likes getting his way. He’s extremely content when he does.
Being called Ge Ge or Da Ge; This could possibly make him the happiest man in the world. To be called either of these, especially by his siblings, would send him to heaven.
He would even settle for being called mommy if it would get him recognized as an elder, respected person
Shinatty-chan; A knock off of Hello Kitty he invented. He claims it’s not and that Shinatty-chan is of his own design, but….
Tea and COffee; Obviously. These are his two, most common drinks. So of course, he likes them quite a fair bit.
Did I mention food?
Dislikes:
PDA - It embarrasses him to know end, so he mostly avoids it when he can. Like the plague, really.
Being left alone; He unfortunately gets sulky when he’s left all alone. Not very adult-like, now is it?
Having his food-times interrupted; You just… You just don’t mess with him when he’s trying to eat. That’s all there is too it.
Westerners; What’s not to hate? They’re rude, obnoxious, in poor tastes, and their food sucks. Not to mention they can’t be trusted.
His siblings not listening to him; It irritates him to no end when his siblings don’t listen to him. They should respect their big brother more.
Crappy food; for obvious reason. No one likes bad food. Why would anyone want to eat food that tastes unappetizing?
Being teased (I.E, some youngster trying to get fresh with him just to pick on him, being called a woman)
Loud, obnoxious people; It’s rude, and they should consider the people around them a little more!
Westerners (No, seriously, they really tick him off.)
Fatal Flaw:
He is very superstitious, leaving him too afraid to do things he should be able to do by himself. And his superstitions tend to keep him from doing things that are said to cause you great unluckiness in his cultures lores.
He’s too bossy sometimes. He may not always realize it, but his motherly love can come off as over-bearing and irritate people to the point they want nothing to do with him -which in turn leaves him (un-admittedly) sad and lonely.

Roleplay Sample:
Yao was, needless to say, disorganized, disgruntled, and displeased. All day, all day! He had spent all day, cleaning up the house, slaving over a hot stove preparing the food, setting the dining room, and even making himself look extra neat with more graceful and flowing, traditional clothes! It was a moon viewing party, he had invited his whole Asian family too. But not even a single one of those ungrateful children showed up! How could they let such food go to waste?! How could they turn down such a gracious offer?!
Even Taiwan and Hong Kong skipped out at the last moment, as if they had something better do to! Kids these days, honestly! Not that he’d ever let on that it actually made him sad. He’d just scold them like no tomorrow when he got his hands on them. He grumbled, sitting at the table. Not even that silly Russian had decided to intrude! He grumbled once again before shoving food, unceremoniously into his mouth. Not the way he would usually do it, but it wasn’t like there was anyone to see him, “Fine, I enjoy by self, aru.”
About a half an hour later, a meal meant for a large sized family ten or more was gone. He stared down at the dishes, debating doing the right thing and cleaning them now, or leaving them and going to bed. He was rather sleepy after a full stomach… But there was no way he could just leave the dishes there. With a sight, he got to his feet and started collecting the dishes, heading to the kitchen through a darkened house. He would at least soak them in warm, soapy water before going to sleep. That way none of the left over bits of crumbs and such would stick to the plates.
